NEIP CEO Woos Ohio Business Entrepreneurs To Ghana For ‘Adwumawura Programme’

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Advancement Programme (NEIP), Mr. Eric Adjei, has told a high delegation of financiers in Columbus, Ohio, U.S.A. to consider doing business in Ghana. He emphasized that the opportunities are abundant, and Ghana remains the prime investment destination in Africa, rapidly overcoming financial risks.

During his visit to Ohio, USA, Mr. Adjei introduced the government’s flagship initiative, ‘The Adwumawura Programme,’ to the business-oriented individuals. The purpose of the visit was to establish strategic partnerships and attract investments for Ghana’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. Accompanying him was Mr. Vincent Ohene-Ntow, NEIP’s Director for Business Support and Development.

    Key Areas Discussed:

    • Innovation Center Development: Focusing on creating and reinforcing innovation hubs to drive startup incubation and growth.
    • Modernized Agriculture: Supporting tailored agricultural initiatives to promote youth engagement.
    • Exchange Programs: Facilitating knowledge transfer and collaboration through exchange programs between Ghana and the United States.
    • Access to Financing: Enhancing access to crucial funding for emerging businesses.

The delegation highlighted President John Mahama’s dedication to advancing entrepreneurship through ‘The Adwumawura Programme.’ They stressed the importance of global partnerships in achieving this vision and invited development partners, private investors, and institutions to collaborate in building a robust business community for Ghanaian youth.

The ‘Adwumawura Programme’ aims to establish 10,000 youth-led businesses annually, focusing on empowering young Ghanaian innovators and entrepreneurs. It will provide comprehensive support to the top 2,000 implementable business proposals, including business development training, mentorship, startup funding, and marketing opportunities.

This initiative is expected to significantly impact Ghana’s economy by creating employment, fostering innovation, and encouraging youth entrepreneurship, ultimately contributing to economic growth and development.

The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program (NEIP) is set to implement the ‘Adwumawura Programme,’ aligning with the Ghanaian government’s efforts to nurture entrepreneurship and drive economic growth by supporting startups and small enterprises.
