Ojude Oba: FG ready to collaborate in developing tourism sector – Minister

The Minister of Culture, Tourist and Creative Economy, Hanatu Musawa, stated that the federal government is ready to collaborate with state governments to grow its tourism industry. This collaboration aims to increase economic development, create jobs, and enhance national prosperity. Speaking at the 2025 Ojude Oba festival held at the Awujale pavilion, Ijebu Ode, Musawa highlighted the importance of partnerships with subnationals and the private sector to leverage each state’s unique qualities for tourism growth.

She mentioned, “Recently, President Bola Tinubu announced a collaboration between the federal and subnational governments to foster development and work with the private sector to capitalize on each state’s distinct characteristics.” The festival has evolved into a significant platform for tourism, youth empowerment, and entrepreneurship, promoting national unity. The government pledges to support the festival’s continuous progress and ensure its sustainability.

The annual cultural event, held three days after Eid-del-Kabir, allows the people of Ijebu land to honor the Awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebu land, Oba Sikiru Adetona. Despite the absence of the 91-year-old monarch, his wife, Olori Kemi Adetona, represented him at this year’s celebration. Notable attendees included government officials, former governors, senators, and other dignitaries who graced the occasion.
