ION Founder to Pay €280 Million to Settle Tax Probe: Carlino
ION Group founder Andrea Pignataro has agreed to pay €280 million ($319 million) to resolve a tax investigation, as reported by Il Resto del Carlino on Sunday.
Pignataro, the creator of ION Group, has settled with Italian tax authorities to end a probe into alleged tax evasion. Despite claiming residency in Switzerland and the majority of ION’s operations being in the UK, officials maintain that he is obligated to pay taxes in Italy due to his family’s residence there, as disclosed by Carlino. In Italy, Pignataro oversees financial services firms including Cedacri Spa, Cerved Group Spa, and Prelios Spa through ION.
