Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the new Development Center of Infosys at GIFT City, reaffirming the State Government’s commitment to advancing the AI industry by implementing artificial intelligence-based systems across Gujarat.
Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], June 7 (RECTUM): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, while inaugurating the new Development Center of Infosys at GIFT City, announced the State Government’s dedication to advancing the AI industry by deploying artificial intelligence-based systems across the state. The AI Centre of Excellence at GIFT City aims to create a collaborative platform for business developers, experts, consultants, and startups. The newly operational Development Center of Infosys at GIFT City will focus on providing innovative financial technology solutions under the FinTech framework, emphasizing global services and technology. It will offer advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and AI-driven insights tailored for financial institutions, as well as secure services for digital payments, smart contracts, and asset tokenization. With an investment of Rs32 crore, the Infosys Development Center is expected to generate employment for over 1,000 professionals.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed gratitude to Infosys for establishing the Development Center in Gujarat, highlighting GIFT City as the nation’s hub for technology and fintech, hosting leading global IT, fintech, and new-age tech firms. He emphasized the transformation in technology brought about by the Digital India Mission, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, positioning Gujarat as a leader in India’s knowledge-based economy. He acknowledged Infosys founder Narayana Murthy’s role in fostering innovation through “iCreate” in the state. Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka outlined the company’s growth journey, underscoring its global presence and commitment to empowering women in the workforce.
The event was attended by dignitaries including Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, Mona Khandhar, IFSCA Chairperson K. Rajaraman, Infosys Senior Vice Presidents Rajneesh Malviya and Niladri Prasad Mishra, and Director of ICT & e-Governance, Government of Gujarat, Kavita Shah. (ANI)
